Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Controller to support the financial management and performance of projects across the organization. The Project Controller will be responsible for project budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements. This role requires strong proficiency in Costpoint and Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to collaborate with project managers and finance leadership to drive project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost performance metrics.
  • Analyze project financial data and provide actionable insights to project managers and leadership.
  • Prepare monthly project financial reports, including variance analyses and earned value metrics where applicable.
  • Review labor, subcontractor, material, and indirect costs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support project setup, funding management, and contract modifications within Costpoint.
  • Monitor project revenue, billing, and profitability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial close activities related to project accounting.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, company policies, and government regulations.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers, Contracts, Accounting, and other stakeholders to support project execution.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analyses.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project control, project accounting, program finance, or a related financial role.
  • Strong proficiency with Deltek Costpoint.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting government contracts, including cost-reimbursable and fixed-price contracts.
  • Knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations.
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint.
