Job description

Job Title
AI Assistant Product Manager
About the business:
Shaping how travelers plan, book, and experience trips through AI Assistants.
About the AI Delivery Hub:
The AI Delivery Hub is a key engine in Amadeus' transformation toward an AI-first organization. It brings together focused, multidisciplinary teams to design, build, and deliver AI product solutions end-to-end. Working closely with product and platform teams across different business lines, the Hub accelerates delivery and scales AI across Amadeus' portfolio by turning proven work into reusable capabilities and real product outcomes.
About the team:
By joining our AI Assistant team, you'll be part of an end-to-end product incubation team focused on designing, validating, and scaling AI-native solutions for how travelers plan, book, and service trips through emerging AI interfaces.
Amadeus is well placed to help shape how travelers discover and book through conversational AI, bringing together our content, distribution, hospitality, and payments capabilities to deliver trusted, end-to-end travel experiences within AI Assistant platforms.
Summary of the Role:
The AI Assistant Product Manager owns the discovery, shaping, and incubation of Amadeus's product propositions for AI Assistant platforms, from initial opportunity framing through first Minimum Lovable Product (MLP) and Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
This means deeply understanding what travelers and AI platforms need, identifying where Amadeus capabilities can deliver differentiated value, and validating those opportunities through structured experimentation and learning through delivery.
The role sits at a critical intersection. Externally, it requires fluency in how AI Assistants, and their users, discover and consume travel services. Internally, it requires orchestrating across Amadeus business units (Universal Distribution, Hospitality, Payments) and external data and content partners to assemble compelling end-to-end travel experiences that are production-ready and platform-aligned.
AI-fluent product leadership - This PM must understand the technology that powers our customers. AI Assistants are built on large language models and the PM shaping Amadeus's propositions for them needs to understand how LLMs reason, where they excel, where they fail, and how context, prompting, and tool integration shape the end-user experience. This is not about being an engineer; it is about having enough technical fluency to make sharp product decisions in an AI-native environment.
Equally, this PM is expected to be a power user of AI tools in their own daily work: using rapid prototyping platforms to build and test concepts, leveraging AI research tools for competitive and market analysis, and writing structured prompts to drive high-quality outputs from AI coding and design tools. AI fluency is a core working method, not a nice-to-have.
In this role you'll:
Discovery and opportunity sensing:
  • Monitor and deeply understand the AI Assistant landscape, platform strategies, developer ecosystems, integration models, and competitive dynamics and translate shifts into actionable opportunity assessments.
  • Run continuous discovery with travelers, travel sellers, and AI platform teams to understand emerging jobs-to-be-done when travel meets conversational AI.
  • Map the end-to-end traveler journey through AI Assistants and identify where Amadeus can deliver distinctive, delightful experiences rather than commodity integrations.
  • Translate research into opportunity maps, problem statements, and prioritized hypotheses that guide what the team explores next.

Experimentation and validation:
  • Design and execute lean experiments (prototypes, integration pilots, fake-door tests, MLPs) that validate or invalidate assumptions quickly and at low cost, with a preference for live-traffic learning.
  • Define success metrics for each experiment (e.g., traveler activation, task completion, booking conversion, retention, partner adoption) and use them to make pivot, persevere, or stop decisions.
  • Work with engineers and data specialists to scope and ship learning-focused MLPs, instrumented with the right telemetry and analytics.

Experience shaping:
  • Partner with designers to craft end-to-end, multi-modal travel experiences that feel distinctively delightful not only functional.
  • Define what "great" looks like for AI-assisted travel across the journey: inspiration, planning, booking, in-trip, and post-trip.
  • Develop and continuously refine a clear product vision and narrative for AI-assisted travel, aligned with Amadeus strategy and outcome goals.

Ecosystem orchestration:
  • Collaborate closely with Amadeus business units (Universal Distribution, Hospitality, Payments, and others) to identify and assemble the capabilities, content, and APIs needed to power compelling AI travel experiences.
  • Engage external partners, data providers, content aggregators, destination services, to enrich and differentiate the travel experience within AI Assistants.
  • Navigate partnership dynamics with AI platform teams, understanding their incentives, integration requirements, and go-to-market models.

Communication and influence:
  • Facilitate regular readouts and decision forums with leadership, clearly communicating insights, competitive intelligence, risks, and recommended next steps.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and customer-centricity, coaching others on discovery practices and evidence-based decisions.
  • Build shared conviction across a broad stakeholder set by combining early wins that demonstrate momentum with a credible long-term vision.

About the Ideal Candidate:
  • 4+ years in product roles with significant time in discovery-heavy, early-stage incubation, or platform/ecosystem environments.
  • Candidates must be able to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship ***
  • Demonstrated ability to turn qualitative and quantitative research into successful new product concepts or MVPs, ideally in fast-evolving markets.
  • Strong skills in user research (interviews, usability tests, concept testing) and comfort synthesizing insights into clear narratives under ambiguity.
  • Experience designing and running product experiments, including hypothesis definition, metric selection, and analysis.
  • Track record of working across organizational boundaries, influencing without authority and aligning multiple business units or partners around a shared direction.
  • Excellent storytelling, visual communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort operating in a space where the landscape evolves rapidly and the right answer is discovered, not prescribed.
  • Experience with AI/ML products, conversational interfaces, or platform/API businesses.
  • Background in travel, hospitality, or marketplace/platform ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with AI Assistant platforms (integration models, developer tools, plugin/skill architectures).
  • Background in UX, service design, behavioral science, or similar human-centered disciplines.
  • Hands-on familiarity with analytics and research tooling.
  • Experience in innovation labs, venture studios, or incubation and product-launch programs taking concepts from idea to first market release.
