Main purpose of the Product Development Assistant role:

This is a full time role for a candidate who will utilize his or her organizational skills to maintain product and support the team in the concept through production process. This position will support various aspects of the Design/Development process through close partnerships and consistent communication to ensure the development process runs efficiently. This is a role for a candidate who comprehends deadlines and has strong organizational skills that will thrive in a fast-paced work environment.


Major Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for tracking, unpacking, distributing samples and approvals throughout development process which includes support with all sample check-ins
  • Assist Product Developers in day-to-day functions
  • Enter into PLM system and maintain (check-ins, line guides, updates, costs, status)
  • Assist with coding and submitting development invoices
  • Support with buy meeting preparations
  • Support with maintaining the Product Development fabric library
  • Assist with the factory costing and update cost in PLM
  • Support with PLM data accuracy
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management

Required Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Possess strong knowledge in garment construction and specifications
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Team player and ability to multitask
  • Flexible and adaptable to a very fast-paced environment
  • Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing and pulling
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1-2+ years’ experience in similar role
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Internet research
  • Deadline focused and goal driven
  • Must be able to perform efficiently with tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Fashion, Product Development or similar field
  • Some experience in PLM system
  • Strong fabric knowledge
  • Strong analytical and decision making skills

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $19.00/hour to $21.00/hour.
