Job Description
The Metallurgical Engineering Co-op will be responsible for various short/long term projects to gather and analyze data required for efficient design/processing of forgings for seamless rolled rings and open and closed die forgings.
Essential Functions
  • Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team member
  • Assist with the design, development, integration, and testing of projects
  • Collect, organize, analyze, and document data, specifications, and spreadsheets
  • Participate in the quality assurance and quality control process of projects
  • Provide technical support to the assigned team or department
  • Complete a cost improvement project
  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct requirements

Required Experience
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with PC programs, including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Experience
  • Completion of an introductory materials course
  • Experience working with and researching on metal alloys

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) required
  • Actively enrolled in a four-year engineering degree program with second-year standing or higher
  • Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Aerospace, or related engineering degrees preferred

Additional Requirements
  • This position requires 20 hours per week minimum onsite (hours may be slightly modified to accommodate for school schedule)
  • Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA or higher

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21 to $24 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
