Job description

40% Research:
  • Develop and sustain an active program of scholarly research in operations management and related fields, leading to publications in high-quality academic journals, scholarly presentations, and other research contributions
40% Teaching:
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in operations management and related disciplines. Contribute to student learning through instruction, mentoring, advising, curriculum development, and other educational activities that support the mission of the School of Business.
20% Service:
  • Engage in service activities that support the area, school, university, profession, and broader community. Contribute through committee participation, professional engagement, outreach, student support activities, and other service contributions appropriate to rank and expertise.
,The School of Business at the University of Kansas is conducting a search for a tenure-track faculty position in Operations and Supply-Chain Management for the 2027-28 academic year. The appointment will be made at rank of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 18, 2027.
Successful candidates will be expected to continue to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through high quality publications in leading academic journals, to teach courses with rigorous academic content at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level, and to engage in service and outreach activities that advance the educational mission of the School of Business and the University of Kansas. While all areas of operations/supply chain will be considered, emphasis might be given to the emerging topics of blockchain, digital transformation of supply chain, and supply-chain analytics. 
The University of Kansas School of Business offers undergraduate, master's (full-time and online) and doctoral programs. In recent years, the School has experienced remarkable growth, expanding academic offerings with student enrollment approaching 5,000 students. The School of Business is located on KU's main campus in Lawrence in Capitol Federal Hall, a modern instructional facility with advanced classrooms, offices, and student resources. Lawrence is located 35 miles west of Kansas City in the Kansas River valley.
