Role Description The Midstream Operator I role at Knock Out Energy is a full-time, on-site position based in Carlsbad, NM. The Midstream Operator I is responsible for the daily operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of midstream facilities such as pipelines, gathering systems, and conpressors. Typical duties include reading and recording pressures, temperatures, and flow rates; starting and stopping equipment; performing routine inspections and minor adjustments; and promptly reporting abnormalities or safety concerns. Pigging pipelines. The role involves following standard operating procedures, adhering to safety and environmental regulations, and accurately completing logs and documentation. The Midstream Operator I will also assist with field projects, support maintenance activities, and coordinate with supervisors, technicians, and control room personnel to ensure reliable and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and follow operational procedures, read gauges and instrumentation, and accurately record operating data.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine equipment checks, identify issues, and support minor maintenance tasks under supervision.
  • Commitment to safety practices, including hazard recognition, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with field personnel, supervisors, and control room staff.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical training or coursework in oil and gas, industrial operations, or a related field is a plus.
  • Prior experience in oil and gas, midstream, or industrial operations preferred but not required for motivated entry-level candidates.
