Job description

Position Summary - Midstream Operations Safety Coordinator I/II/Sr

Partner with Midstream operational departments covering including but not limited to the Alleghany, Cambria, Clarion, Clinton, Lycoming, Washington, & Westmoreland County Pennsylvania areas to proactively drive a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and enable employees and contractors to perform work safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations and internal policies.
  • Partner with Operations and contractors to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards and operational risks while promoting compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
  • Provide field-based safety support through observations, inspections, audits, risk assessments, and emergency response activities appropriate to the assigned level.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in RHA's, MOC's, PSSR's, pre-job assessments, and SIMOPS meetings.
  • Develop and deliver safety training, orientations, and briefings to contractors and operations personnel.
  • Proactively identify and implement strategies to reduce workplace incidents.
  • Coach and engage contractors and operations personnel to reinforce safe work practices and correct unsafe behaviors.
  • Analyze safety performance, identify trends and improvement opportunities, develop and implement corrective actions, and track safety improvements through completion.
  • Build effective working relationships with Operations, contractors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Provide field level safety support for Midstream Operations

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 0-7+ years of experience which demonstrates a thorough understanding of safety regulations, compliance issues pertaining to midstream oil and gas operations, and 3rd party contractor management. 
  • Bachelor's degree in safety science or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of experience and education. (ASP, GSP or CSP) preferred. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the oil and gas business, or related industry experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver public speaking engagements/trainings and analyze/summarize data for report writing.
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently, while also working well and communicating with all levels of the team.
  • Ability to exercise discretion when dealing with confidential information.
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills for accurate record keeping.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work an on-call rotation with flexible work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work Location:

  • This role will primarily be field-based, with travel to locations spanning across EQT's operating area required, overnight travel may be required occasionally.
