JOB SUMMARY:

Experienced and degreed Controller who has worked in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This person will report to the Division of Finance with a dotted line to the Plant Manager and will become a valued member of our Finance department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information to monitor operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget and other matters dealing with the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.

Manages the preparation of daily and weekly financial reporting, monthly forecast, annual operating plan and maintains surveillance on inventories and plant performance in relation to established objectives.

Manages all accounting activities involved in accounts payable, capital assets, general ledger and standard cost systems, as well as month end closing and reconciliation process, and ensure that all activities are in compliance with established plant, group and corporate policies and procedures.

Manages internal control processes for plant with direction from division and corporate finance teams.

Manages audit process of annual physical inventory and interface with external auditors for the inventory.

Manages the department by developing and maintaining budgets, setting goals an objective, determining action within policies required to meet goals. Determines personnel needs and takes action to meet those needs, conducting training, development, counseling, and performance evaluation of departmental employees.

Initiates and maintains procedures, records, and reports relating to financial management and methods of the plant and assist in the interpretations and analysis of reports to Plant Manager, Product Line Managers and Support Staff.

Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains planning and control procedures and analyzes and reports variances.

May give certain authority to assigned staff within their job scope to perform duties, make decisions and use independent judgements.

Has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Tenneco Policy.

Abide by the plants safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.

Provide support as requested by supervisor/staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in related field of study from accredited institution.

MBA or CPA desired.

SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

Five or more years of experience with progressive responsibility in accounting/finance field.

Experience with the use of computers including Microsoft suite mandatory, with emphasis on Excel.

Must have working knowledge of compensation laws, financial analysis, and financial principles.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues and documents.

Prefer experience with SAP, must have ERP experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to sit frequently for extended periods of time.

Ability to move about the plant in both the office and manufacturing areas.

Manual dexterity for computer work.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Office environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, computers, telephones, desks, temperature controlled.

Manufacturing environment - includes, but not limited to, artificial lighting, machine/equipment noise, some welding exhaust, non-controlled temperatures, and PPE required.

Some travel which could include an overnight stay.
