Job description

OVERVIEW

Reporting to our Finance Manager, you will be using your accounting and analytical skills to work with leaders and associates at all levels of the Company to review and investigate labor and manufacturing variances, monthly inventory levels and present on key financial results. A substantial portion of this position will involve participating in teams with the goal of driving continuous process improvements within our operations and finance organizations

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor changes and update bills of materials / routing
  • Analyze and update labor and manufacturing overhead rates
  • Analyze fixed versus variable overhead rates
  • Analyze and update labor operation hours
  • Monitor monthly inventory levels and support cycle count programs
  • Manage physical inventory process
  • Analyze monthly manufacturing variances and communicate key drivers
  • Analyze monthly operating efficiencies
  • Investigate variances and inefficiencies to assist Operations in determining root cause and countermeasure
  • Analyze monthly gross profit
  • Analyze inventory reserves
  • Partner with Manufacturing to prepare annual plant budgets
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual planning cycles
  • Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization’s cost accounting procedures
  • Prepare and present management reports, dashboards, and KPIs
  • Fixed asset accounting: inventory control, tagging, accounting.  Update general ledger monthly as required.
  • Create and upload journal entries (reserves, inventory adjustments, other general adjustments)
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations
  • Validate cost of goods sold during month-end
  • Support ad hoc requests of Finance Manager
  • Perform all other ad hoc duties as assigned by Finance Manager/Business Unit Lead

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of general accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing; use of Syteline ERP system a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or other relevant field
  • Master’s degree or MBA / CPA / CMA a plus
  • Experience with Visual Manufacturing system, Oracle financials, or Microsoft Dynamics/D365 (ERP)
  • Experience with OneStream or a similar reporting tool
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals
  • Demonstrate leadership skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time on a project basis
  • Willingness to learn and grow
