Baystate Health, western Massachusetts' premier healthcare provider and home to Baystate Medical Practices, the region's largest multispecialty physician group, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Springfield, MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Financial Analyst serves as a trusted financial advisor to Baystate Medical Practices, partnering with physician leaders and practice management to provide strategic financial guidance, support informed business decisions, and drive strong financial performance across our medical practices.

Strategic Financial Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with physician practice leadership, operational leaders, and medical directors.
  • Serve as the primary financial liaison for assigned medical practices, responding to financial requests and providing expert guidance.
  • Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue, operational efficiency, and overall practice performance.
  • Develop actionable recommendations that support informed business decisions.

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Coordinate the annual operating budget process for assigned practices.
  • Develop financial forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports.
  • Analyze net practice revenue and communicate financial trends to leadership.
  • Participate in the development of capital and operating budgets.
  • Design and enhance financial reporting tools and dashboards that improve visibility into practice performance.

Revenue Cycle & Operational Support

  • Partner with Revenue Cycle and Practice Billing Office teams to optimize reimbursement, collections, and financial outcomes.
  • Monitor financial metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Stay informed on healthcare reimbursement trends, physician payment methodologies, and industry best practices.

Physician Compensation Support

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and financial modeling of physician compensation plans.
  • Analyze provider productivity and compensation compared to national benchmarks.
  • Support incentive compensation calculations and annual physician compensation budgets.
  • Maintain confidential physician compensation data and reporting.
  • Participate in month-end close activities and provider productivity reporting.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full-time, 40 hours a week
  • Monday through Friday
  • No weekends, No holidays

LOCATION:

  • 280 Chestnut St,
  • Hybrid opportunity 3 days a week on-site. Candidate must reside in MA or CT
  • Springfield, MA

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, required
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in healthcare finance, financial analysis, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of physician practice operations, healthcare reimbursement, managed care, and physician payment models.
  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial leaders.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
