Job description

We are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.  Responsibilities include managing all Cash, AP & AR processing to include billing and collections, assisting corporate office with month-end closing and reconciliations, review and prepare club budget & forecast, and supervision of the accounting team. The position will report directly to the General Manager of the resort and work closely with our corporate-level accounting/finance resources.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
    1. Assist General Manager with budget and forecast preparation
    2. Accounts payable/receivable/billing/collections
    3. Cash receipts
    4. Payroll
    5. Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
    6. Supervision of accounting staff
    7. Additional projects or duties as required
  2. Monitor and analyze accounting data
  3. Enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles to ensure compliance and accuracy
  4. Coordinate and complete annual audits
  5. Identify process & internal control weaknesses and work to develop and implement solutions
  6. Meet corporate office financial accounting objectives and deadlines
  7. Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
  8. Serve as liaison between property department heads and the accountants at corporate office

Requirements

  1. 3-5 years of relevant work experience, including recent experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager supervising direct reports
  2. Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases. Strong preference given to candidates with significant experience in standard platforms for the hospitality industry (Opera PMS, Micros 9700 POS, Purchase Order Systems, etc.)
  3. Proficiency with web browser and web-based accounting systems (NetSuite experience is a plus)
  4. Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
  5. Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  6. Analytical, detail-oriented, strategic thinker focused on accuracy with the ability to see the big picture
  7. Ability to identify and resolve problems effectively
  8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  9. Ability to direct, supervise, and delegate efficiently
  10. Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision
  11. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  12. Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
