WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING A FULL TIME ECOMMERCE MERCHANDISING SPECIALIST FOR OUR
LOCATION IN MARINA DEL REY, CA 

OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist supports the growth and day-to-day operation of jamesperse.com by owning accurate Shopify product setup, site merchandising execution, launch QA, content linking, onsite search maintenance, and merchandising operations. This role requires a detail-oriented, hands-on Ecommerce professional who is highly comfortable working with large Excel files to manage product data, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a consistent customer experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Shopify product setup and product data. Create and maintain products in Shopify, including attribution, product tagging, filter tagging, badging, pricing and promotional setup, swatch groups, complete-the-look setup, image order, and product launches. Use Excel to manage, QA, clean, and reconcile large product files.
  • Site merchandising and content. Set up and merchandise collections and collection pages; maintain product listing page (PLP) and homepage content; execute homepage linking strategy; maintain navigation-related collections and swatch groups.
  • Inventory visibility and launch QA. Monitor low stock and product availability; adjust product visibility, merchandising placement, and site links; QA inventory, imagery, pricing, promotions, navigation, and launch readiness.
  • Search and discovery optimization. Manage search synonyms, redirects, misspellings, and zero-results opportunities to improve product findability and the customer journey.
  • Email and campaign support. Create and maintain pinned links for emails and QA email tests, landing links, product setup, pricing, promotions, and navigation before deployment.
  • Operational systems and troubleshooting. Set up products in Shiphero, troubleshoot product flow and fulfillment-related issues with internal teams, and escalate blockers quickly.
  • Cross-functional coordination and creative workflows. Partner with Planning and Allocation, Creative Studio, Marketing, and Fulfillment on launches, site updates, seasonal handoffs, sample requests, and ongoing merchandising priorities; create seasonal handoff lists for Creative.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE
  • 1-3 years of hands-on Shopify experience in ecommerce merchandising, product setup, site operations, or online retail required.
  • Very comfortable with Excel and large files; proficient with sorting, filtering, data cleanup, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, QA checks, and CSV/import-export workflows.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce product data, taxonomy/tagging, collection logic, site merchandising, inventory visibility, and launch QA.
  • Apparel, luxury retail, or direct-to-consumer ecommerce experience.
  • Familiarity with Shiphero or similar order management, warehouse management, fulfillment, onsite search, or email campaign QA tools.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple launches, campaigns, and site updates in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to coordinate clearly and professionally across Creative, Planning, Allocation, Marketing, Fulfillment, and Ecommerce teams.
  • Proactive problem-solver who can identify issues, escalate blockers, adapt to changing priorities, and recommend process improvements.

This position pays $80k annual base salary.
