This role is on-site in the Chicago area market.
The Ecommerce Merchandiser is responsible for the strategy, execution, and performance of ecommerce and digital menu operations across all states in which Bloc operates. This role owns the governance of ecommerce systems, product catalog standards, promotional execution, and overall ecommerce performance across multiple markets.
This leader ensures alignment between Supply Chain, Marketing, Retail Operations, and Compliance while driving revenue growth, protecting margin, and delivering a consistent digital customer experience across all locations. The Ecommerce Merchandiser leads ecommerce system implementations, oversees digital merchandising standards, and manages Implementation & Ecommerce Specialists to ensure operational excellence and scalability as Bloc expands.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Multi-State Ecommerce Ownership
• Own ecommerce and digital menu performance across all Bloc retail locations and states
• Establish and enforce standardized ecommerce, catalog, and discount workflows across markets
• Ensure consistency in menu structure, product presentation, and promotional execution while accommodating state-specific compliance and strategy requirements
• Serve as the senior escalation point for ecommerce system issues and outages
• Manage system implementations, upgrades, and new store launches
• Provide continuous training to Implementation Specialists
Platform & System Implementation
• Lead ecommerce system implementations, upgrades, and new store launches
• Own Dutchie configuration, governance, and roadmap alignment
• Partner with POS, inventory, and data teams to ensure system alignment and integrity
• Test and approve new features, integrations, and promotional logic prior to deployment
Catalog, Pricing & Promotion Governance
• Oversee multi-state product catalog standards, data integrity, and compliance
• Approve pricing structures, discount frameworks, and promotional logic
• Balance revenue growth, margin protection, and inventory velocity
• Prevent margin leakage through audits, controls, and governance
• Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
• Own weekly and monthly reporting on ecommerce and discount performance across all states, including:
• Discount efficacy and ROI
• Sales lift and margin impact
• Conversion and basket size
• Product velocity and sell-through
• Present insights and recommendations to the Director of Sales & Purchasing and Director of Marketing
• Use performance data to continuously refine promotional strategy and ecommerce execution
Cross-Functional Leadership
Partner with:
• Marketing on promotional strategy, campaign execution, and featured placements
• Sales & Purchasing / Supply Chain on inventory flow, launches, and sell-through optimization
• Retail Operations to ensure store execution aligns with ecommerce strategy
• Compliance to ensure state-specific accuracy and risk mitigation
• Act as a central connector across departments to ensure alignment and execution
Process Improvement & Operational Support
• Manage and develop Implementation & Ecommerce Specialists
• Set priorities, KPIs, and performance expectations
• Build training, SOPs, and documentation
• Scale team structure and processes as Bloc expands
Process, Controls & Continuous Improvement
• Build and maintain SOPs, QA processes, and audit frameworks
• Identify inefficiencies, risks, and system gaps
• Drive standardization, automation, and scalability
• Lead post-mortems on execution gaps and performance issues
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, supply chain, or related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years experience managing teams in a multi-store or multi-state environment
• Deep hands-on experience with Dutchie (required)
• Strong understanding of cannabis pricing, promotions, and inventory flow
• Proven experience owning ecommerce performance and promotional strategy Experience working in a multi-location or multi-state retail environment preferred
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and judgment in managing project timelines, vendor coordination, and problem-solving.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat; project scheduling tools a plus.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel 50%
