Job description

Looking for hands-on experience in event planning that actually matters? As a HALO Event Planning Intern, you wonโ€™t just assist. Youโ€™ll help bring high-impact fundraising events to life that directly support youth experiencing homelessness.

This role is ideal for people interested in event planning, marketing, nonprofit work, or communications who want to build real skills, take ownership of projects, and see the results of their work in action.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Event Planning & Execution

  • Play a key role in planning and executing HALOโ€™s Art Auction
  • Collaborate with staff to brainstorm creative event concepts and experiences
  • Develop event timelines, manage logistics, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist in coordinating venues, vendors, materials, and event setup
  • Assist with additional internal and external events such as graduations, baby showers, signing days, pickleball tournaments, or holiday events

Marketing & Promotion

  • Create event marketing assets from concept to executionโ€”developing signage, sponsor materials, PowerPoint presentations, print collateral, and web content to drive attendance and engagement
  • Plan and schedule social media content to drive attendance and engagement
  • Support outreach strategies to increase visibility and participation

Day-of Event Management

  • Help lead day-of coordination to ensure events run smoothly
  • Troubleshoot issues in real-time and support event execution

Donor & Sponsor Engagement

  • Assist with sponsor recognition and donor communications
  • Support follow-up efforts to maintain relationships post-event
  • Help ensure a positive and engaging experience for attendees
