Job description

TITLE: Assistant Construction Manager - Flooring
REPORTS TO: Construction Manager
LOCATION: Tampa, FL (surrounding areas)

After a probationary period, a company vehicle will be provided. Must have a valid Driver License amp; clean driving record.
JOB OVERVIEW:
The Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) is the vital link between the project, the Construction Manager, the subcontracted flooring installers, and the Project Manager (PM). In addition to maintaining the workflow, overseeing material installation and maintaining the partner relationships on the project, the Assistant Construction Manager gathers vital information about the project, materials and installation and relays that information back to the Construction Manager and/or Project Manager.

With 30+ years in the industry, RFCI is one of the largest flooring contractors in the Southeast and in the country. This experience allows RFCI to work with local, regional and national General Contractors on a wide variety of projects. Our dedication to continued education and embracing the latest technology available in the market allows RFCI to retain its place as an industry leader. We have a proven track record that includes a vast portfolio of multi-family and senior assisted-living projects as well as holding the status of national flooring vendor for retail/big-box outlets, completing projects throughout the country.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and support commercial construction projects in the Florida market, ensuring profitability, quality, and timely completion.
  • Coordinate with GC Superintendents, attend weekly project meetings, and oversee 2-3 Project Managers.
  • Conduct site inspections, manage subcontractors, and ensure all project documentation is accurate.
  • Oversee material staging, security, and ensure punch list completion with GC approval.
  • Handle change orders, progress billing, and update project software (ProCore, BuildPro).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1+ years of experience as a commercial Construction Manager (not residential construction).
  • 2+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • An energetic "go getter" who takes initiative and values doing things right the 1st time
  • Highly organized with an eye for details
  • Strong follow-up and communication skills with all external and internal players of commercial construction projects.
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) is a plus, but is not required.
  • Existing in-market relationships with commercial construction GC's and/or commercial flooring installation crews is a plus.
