Role Overview


The Industrial Machine Mechanic will oversee mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of production machinery, including extrusion fabrication equipment. This role is pivotal in supporting plant operations and ensuring that our equipment performs reliably to meet production standards.


Responsibilities:

1.Basic mechanical and electrical principles of the blending operation and trouble-shoot minor malfunctions.

2.Produce compound that meets all quality control requirements.

3.Operate all lab equipment and perform quality control checks as required.

4.Maintain adequate levels of raw materials in all hoppers and silos.

5.Assist Senior compounder when necessary.

6.Understand formulations and codes for all materials.

7.Complete required documentation; production report, raw material usage, brabender logbook, etc.

8.Follow all instructions as outlined in the Blend Plant Quality Control Procedure Manual.

9.Unload bulk trucks.

10.Keep additive hoppers and silos supplied with raw material.

11.Read silos on a daily basis.

12.Continually check all lines and feeders for leaks, make sure they remain in proper working condition.

13.Knowledge and familiarity of raw material and compound codes.

14.Assist in the inventory and placement of incoming raw materials.

15.Responsible for the care, handling and storage of material and equipment used for blending and handling.

16.Be able to operate forklift safely and efficiently.

17.Responsible for the cleanliness of blend area at all times.

18.Adhere to the required Standard Operating Procedures of the position.

19.Ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment.

20.Attend training programs or sessions to improve level of knowledge and skills consistent with the other job requirements.

  2. Wear and maintain in good condition all personal safety devices required and work in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  3. Develop and maintain a good attendance and employment record
  4. Any and all other duties outlined and requested by immediate supervisor

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Detail oriented. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work night shift and alternating weekends.
