Location: Sidney, OH, US

Position Title: Compounder

Essential Job Function: Responsible for coordinating and completing the manufacturing and intermediate testing of bulk liquid to support production of all products manufactured in Sidney operations facilities.

Job Function:

  • Manufacture bulk liquid per production order and schedule for Plant 2.
  • Manage bulk changeovers at Plant 2.
  • Enter daily bulk production into SAP.
  • Use SAP system to monitor raw material inventory, packaging production, as well as anything else which affects bulk liquid manufacturing quantities and timing.
  • Maintain all batch documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with line supervisors and lead operators to make necessary real time schedule changes.
  • Complete cycle counts of chemical raw materials and bulk.
  • Unload and sample alcohol from tankers.
  • Maintain DI water system to provide constant supply of approved water.
  • Complete preliminary and intermediate chemical testing on bulk batches.
  • Do product changeovers and complete necessary documentation.
  • Maintain standard operating procedures for batching activities; verify accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Obtain and document samples of bulks and raw materials for testing, as required.
  • Assist production personnel with questions/concerns regarding bulks or changeovers.
  • Responsible for following all FDA, GMP and GDP requirements.
  • Neutralization of waste tank and discharge of waste water.
  • Knowledge of CIP system and its use Foaming of equipment

Knowledge and Skill Requirement:

  • Minimum of High School diploma; 2- year degree preferred; any education,/training a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual with problem solving capabilities and good organizational skills.
  • Prior experience in effectively managing multiple priorities in lab, packaging or equivalent.
  • Strong written and oral technical communication skills.
  • PPE (personal protective equipment) trained, including respirator certified.
  • Math skills equivalent to minimum High School level; strong computer skills.
  • Ability to accurately prepare and document the preparation of multi-component bulk mixes.
  • Experience with inventory and batch management systems a plus.
  • Must be flexible with respect to working hours. Temporary rotation of shifts to meet workload and training requirements is expected.
  • Must be Tow motor certified.
  • Job demands occasional heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.) and moving of bulk raw materials.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be fitted for respirator and pass all respirator test requirements.
  • Must be able to have 20/20 vision corrected.
  • Must be able to hear.
  • Must be able to read and have basic math skills.
  • Must be able to walk.
  • Must be able to climb up/down frequently.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to lift 70 Lbs., occasionally – 50 Lbs. or less, frequently.
  • Must be able to grip/grasp.
  • Must be able to figure and comprehend formula equations.
