Job description

Rochester Structural LLC is a Structural Steel Fabricator and Erector that has been in business since 1982. Recently we purchased a building and property located at 1071 Route 31 in Macedon, NY 14502. All office staff are located at the newly remodeled Macedon location.

What we are looking for?:

Someone who wants an opportunity working for a great employer. The position of Accounting Assistant / Contract Administrator has lots of opportunity for growth.

Full disclosure, the company has grown (doubles in size in the last 10 years) approximately 50 employees +/- based on the season and anticipate more growth with adding the 2nd location in Macedon,NY

The Vice President of Finance & Human Resources (myself, Peter Bohrer) has been with the company for 18+ years. What use to be a on person job is now a 2 person job. So this position will work closely with me.

Job Duties:

Accounting side:

Hands on A/P, A/R , bank reconcilations, Year end working with CPA firm for annual review and preparation of financial statements.

Payroll - including Certified payrolls

Contract Admin side:

Communicating with internal staff ( Project Managers and President/Owner) externally with Customers (primarily via email) Change Orders, Proposed Change Orders, Sending Contracts, getting monthly pencil copies of billings approved by PMs and Customers. Learning and preparing force account billings. Sending required documentation to Customers before contract work can start (getting insurance certs from our insurance agent, sending 10 hour OSHA card copies , drug test results (if required) ) etc.

Required skills:

Willing and able to work . On Time and regularly

Detail Oriented. (everyone makes mistakes, we are human. But, able to learn and not make the same mistakes over and over)

Excellent Communication Skills Must have the written and verbal skills to be professional.

Be proficient in Word, Excel, AI like ChatGPT is a plus.

Willing to learn, grow and hopefully stay with our company long term. Again this position has the potential to be what you make of it....Maybe one day you aspire to be the VP of Finance & HR for Rochester Structural.
