Come join the team atUnited Steel, New England's largest fabricator and erector of structural steel and miscellaneous metals!


United Steel is currently seeking experienced Machine Operators with 2-3 years' experience. Safely operate simple machines and uses overhead cranes and other material handling devices. Work performed requires experience, initiative, and the ability to perform regular duties under minimal supervision. Assist and interact with other department and engineering personnel during the course of duties.


Duties & Responsibilities

Project Management:


  • Maintain and update all structural and miscellaneous drawing logs.

  • Ensure all quick start and start up paperwork is distributed within the designated timeframe.

  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring the Procore documents stays organized.

  • Write Purchase Orders and Subcontracts for Project Managers review. Follow up for returned executed contracts and assist with updating templates.

  • Make sure all drawings are printed and sent out to meet the needs of the company.

  • Update and help develop departmental procedures as directed by the Director of Project Management.

  • Support Project Managements in typing up reports and correspondences as needed.

  • Setting up new jobs in Procore and Fabsuite for drawing records and fabrication tracking

  • Assist in maintaining contract drawing updates on Procore so detailers & subs are accessing the most current drawing sets.

  • Pick up drawings from Engineering, Scanning and Filing Drawings and Maintaining Logs for reference and billing.

  • Support PMs in Meeting Prep., including generating Microsoft Teams links, coordinating lunch, and setting up conference room.

  • Assist with gathering and filing Closeout documents, including warranties and as built packages.

Qualifications


  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience in construction document management preferred.

  • Must have computer skills including knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.

  • Must have good oral and written skills.

  • Superior customer service skills, time management skills and the ability to multi-task, follow directions, and quickly learn new tasks, are essential.

  • Experience working with sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of integrity and judgment.

  • The ability to work with all levels within the organization is essential to this position is the ability to maintain a professional relationship with staff, co-workers, and the laws.

Working Conditions
