Job Title: Assistant Account Manager

Location: Ridgefield Park, NJ / New York, NY

Reports To: Account Manager / Account Executive


Position Summary:

The Assistant Account Manager supports the servicing and retention of insurance accounts. This role is ideal for an early-career insurance professional looking to build technical knowledge and gain hands-on experience in account management. The Assistant Account Manager works closely with Account Managers and Account Executives to ensure high-quality client service and efficient account handling. This role is for the company Howden, previously Oawins.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to Account Managers and Account Executives
  • Process certificates of insurance, endorsements, policy changes, and other service requests
  • Assist with policy checking and ensure accuracy of coverage, limits, and endorsements
  • Respond to routine client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Communicate with carriers and underwriters to obtain policy information, quotes, and updates
  • Support the renewal process by gathering updated exposure data and preparing submission materials
  • Maintain accurate and organized client records in the agency management system
  • Track and follow up on outstanding items, including pending endorsements and carrier requirements
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and carrier guidelines


Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 0โ€“2 years of experience in insurance or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Property & Casualty license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
  • Experience with agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360)
  • Exposure to certificates and policy servicing
  • Fluent in English and Korean
