POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the Program Director, the Art Instructor will lead classes in painting/design with water colors, acrylics, mixed media, and other craft related projects. The Art Instructor will build positive relationships with program participants and insure the safety, well-being, and involvement of participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Selects art projects
  • Identify and notifiy supervisor of materials that will be required for successful completion of project
  • Demonstrates techniques and procedures for art curriculum
  • Observes students work to define students progress or to make suggestions
  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace
  • Represents the YMCA and interacts with members in a friendly, engaging and professional manner

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/ Experience Required:
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Diversified knowledge and experience in teaching various art forms, such as painting, sketching, sculpting, and other art mediums to a variety of ages and abilities.

Certifications/Trainings Required:
  • Must obtain within 30 days of employment and maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
