POSITION

The Department of Art at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Teaching Associate Pool. Primary responsibilities include teaching studio or lecture classes and working with colleagues to continue to develop curricular offerings.

We welcome applications from individuals who have experience and are student-centered to teach in Art and Art History. 

This is a pool of teaching associates for the department to draw on as necessary.

ASSIGNMENTS ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED COURSE ASSIGNMENTS ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in Art Department MA or MFA degree programs.
  • Candidates must be an Art major.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and work effectively with an inclusive and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.
  • Working knowledge of historical and contemporary art and arts practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group and individual critiques.
  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with students.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized and use digital platforms to deliver content.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preference will be given to those with significant teaching experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Preference will also be given to those with relevant performance and professional experience.

COMPENSATION

All Teaching Associate appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.   
Classification Range: $3,245 to $7,598 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $4,500
The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
