Job Description:
The Training Manager is responsible for all Factory training. This includes but is not limited to: onboarding training, job qualification training, daily direction setting, daily management system training, centerline training, monthly training topics, & assesses site for other trainings as identified. Assures 2 collaborative programs operating at all times: New role/associates onboarding and revalidation trainings. Develop and manage training budgets as well as all activities associated with training for the Site.

Education & Professional Qualification
  • Preferred not required Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred 3+ years of manufacturing and training experience

Knowledge/Experience
  • Experienced in Learning and Development or similar roles with a passion for training, coaching and developing people.
  • Experience in Supply and in one or more area of plant operations - Production Management, Continuous Improvement, Training, HSE or Reliability/Maintenance.
  • Experience in partnering with and influencing multi-level stakeholders, strength in engagement and collaboration.
  • Facilitation of classroom training and on-the-job training.
  • Experience in the development of training programs.
  • Technology capable with experience in virtual connections, website interactions and platform co-ordination. Ideal but not essential, must have confidence to move in this field.
  • Preferred 3+ years of manufacturing and training experience

  • Advanced English capability.
  • Ability to travel as required between 10%-20% of time with majority of travel being within a region.
  • Ability to work flexible working hours accommodating varying shifts and time zones.
  • Ability to work remotely from Line Management and delivering results in an isolated working environment.

What will be your key responsibilities?
  • Coach and influence the site leadership team on the appropriate Associate Development & Training systems to apply for optimal site performance. Negotiate resources to deploy these systems.
  • Teach / Coach training support teams on the Mars Associate Development & Training systems including Skill Matrix, Certified Trainer Program, Performance Based Training Curriculums & Courses, On-boarding programs, Work Standards, Zero Loss culture, and equipment ownership.
  • Strong functional knowledge and ability to coach others on Performance based Training and assessments, E&T Pillar Essential Elements, Functional - Technical training systems, Adult learning models and applications. (Advanced knowledge of Associate Development & training methodologies.)
  • Support site E&T pillar lead in periodical health check assessment of each element of the E&T pillar and partner with them in the development of plans to continuously improve the process through each implementation step.
  • Teach, coach and assessment E&T Pillar methodology to Pillar Team Members & coordinate the capability building process for the site.
  • Identify, evaluate and set direction for site on the MSE E&T pillar in the Mars Associate Development & Training systems.
  • Support implementation of MSE. Support the Site Implementation Plan, specifically be the Pillar Leader for the E&T Pillar and represent the site on the Regional E&T Pillar Team as a Team Member
  • Deliver operational objectives through use of FMOS (operating system), MSE (Mars Supply Excellence) and Continuous Improvement in associate training & development systems
  • Develop a team engagement plan creating strong morale, fostering open dialogue, sharing wins and recognition, and defining success in terms of the whole team for Associate

Development & Training teams.
  • Lead the site Team Member recruitment and hiring through application of assessments, orientation, and effective on-boarding systems.
  • Coordinate materials, staffing and resources to Associate Development & Training systems.
  • Understand and execute regulatory compliance responsibilities including Job Task Analysis for core associate role tasks and associated training requirements.
  • Design, utilize and maintain the Training Center through seeking new approaches/practices to improve training. Cooperation with external training centers on the training processes and competence assessment of the staff
  • Assist in all equipment upgrades/installations through execution of performance-based training.
  • Maintain Training Budget & communicate status systematically to the appropriate level of the organization
  • Develop clear individual business objectives (IBOs) and development plans (IDPs) with input from team members

Context & Scope
  • Develop/execute assessments for trainings for the site annually
  • Developing training material (Identify and utilize the training aids (equipment, mock-ups etc.) for manufacturing)
  • Maintains, operates and sets up tablets, video camera, VCR's, recorders and PA system as requested.
  • Ensure adherence of performance tracking tools including Skill Matrix, database, and standardized standards tracking.
  • Develop & produce training videos
  • Monitor and document training associate progress and results against IBOs and IDPs
  • Support FMOS connection points (meetings) to help implement the skill gap reduction process which visualizes and prioritizes training needs, metrics and gaps
  • Verbal/Written communicate to all levels (zones) of the organization status of training program actions.
  • Execute, teach, coach and assess the 7 steps of performance-based training regularly.
  • Keep updated on latest technology in audio visual field to make proper decisions for best training intervention. Become a Master Trainer by passing the Master Trainer Program
  • Become PDCA Certified to support problem solving in area of responsibility
  • Assist operations in development & delivering training for new projects within the site. (CVS T1-T4)
  • Teach, coach and assess E&T Methodology to Pillar Members.
  • Deliver or assist in execution of internal & external assessments as it pertains to training or training effectiveness
  • Make and submit reports to the clients' groups in the prescribed format.
  • Systematic meetings with Line Managers to update, identify skills gaps, plan and deliver training to reduce the skills gaps leveraging current ways of working (FMOS, MRF, MSE) - Capability Building Process.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
The pay range listed is applicable to IL:USD 71,200.00 - USD 97,900.00
