As a(n) Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
  • Consults with leadership team to set medium to long term strategic direction and operating plans for a large complex manufacturing operation.
  • Initiating and approving projects to continually improve efficiency and competitiveness.
  • Direct responsibility for functional strategic planning, including establishing and managing budgets for one or more departments.
  • Determines priorities, timetables and assigns resources/tasks. Accountable for the activities and results of functional area(s).
  • Problem solving requires a thorough understanding of operational policies and practices. Applies knowledge of different techniques and practices to achieve desired results. Create solutions for complex and multi-faceted problems, requiring ingenuity, creativity, innovation and strong analytical skills.
  • Typically, will provide direct supervision to higher level professionals and lower-level managers which will include objective setting, performance management and motivating, as well as training and coaching.
  • Has significant business impact on the organization due to scope of responsibility and complexity of duties.

Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Ten (10) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Three (3) years of manufacturing operations management in a private, public, government or military environment

  • At least Eight (8) years of manufacturing operations management in a private, public, government or military environment

Effective cross-functional collaboration and the ability to manage performance through KPIs are essential.
