We are currently looking for an Operations Manager, reporting to our VP of Operations.

Good communication and leadership skills areΒ Essential.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide effective ongoing and daily leadership, mentoring, guidance and direction to manufacturing operations to ensure plant execution and improvement in core competencies (Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery).
  • In collaboration with Executive Management, develop short- and long-term operational policies, programs, objectives, and metrics
  • Communicate openly and proactively throughout the production team; both upward and downward, to promote a culture of inclusion, empowerment, growth and connectivity for all members.
  • Works closely with the Engineering, Quality and other department leaders to ensure the needs of our customers are being met and exceeded while maintaining production levels.
  • Preserve the neighborly value of Essential Industries to other businesses and residents in the Merton community
  • Lead a culture focused on continuous improvement, optimization, problem solving and best practices’
  • Identify, recommend, and implement changes to reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap, rework, and error data
  • Ensure the established goals and metrics are being met in the Filling/Packaging, Compounding, Scheduling, and Shipping/Receiving departments
  • Develop a flexible and robust organization in compounding, filling/packaging, and shipping departments through cross training and staffing structure to meet the changing needs of the business.
  • Complete specific projects or responsibilities assigned by Executive Management in an accurate and timely manner

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position manages all employees through the department Supervisors and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the Compounding, Filling/Packaging, Purchasing, and Scheduling departments. This position is also accountable for the following:

  • Being an advocate for creative thinking, professional development, resource provision, and remove any impediments for direct reports to allow impact-driven initiatives and solutions
  • Managing individual and team performances, as well as resolving any escalated situations
  • Providing proactive mentoring, coaching, and training in order to successfully execute daily accountable duties
  • Developing, prioritizing, and implementing productive change management culture within the departments
  • Being the architect in the department’s strategies and planning that will promote a successful output for Essential Industries and its customers

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business or Scientific discipline or other related field or equivalent Operations Management experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in a leadership role within manufacturing operations
  • Strong communication and organizational engagement skills

Skills

  • Experience in a Liquid Batch Manufacturing Operations is a plus
  • Working experience of ERP software
  • Previous experience implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, etc...to drive improvement
  • Power BI experience
