Position Summary

Q.E.D. Systems, Inc. (“QED”) is seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead technical services operations in Washington in support of U.S. Navy ship repair and modernization programs. This role is responsible for overseeing program execution, supporting customer relationships, managing personnel and resources, and helping ensure that safety, quality, schedule, and financial objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for the Washington Area Field Office
  • Provide direction and oversight of local program management and support staff
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and company procedures
  • Oversee project planning, staffing, budgeting, schedule performance, and risk management
  • Support ROM development, reporting, documentation, and customer communications
  • Drive process consistency and continuous improvement across programs
  • Help ensure project performance targets for safety, quality, schedule, cost, and profitability are met

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field, plus 5+ years of relevant experience; or 10+ years of directly relevant naval engineering, ship repair, or project/program management experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy vessel maintenance, repair, or modernization programs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical and operational teams
  • Strong customer communication and problem-resolution skills
  • U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance.
  • Employment is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States and the ability to pass any required background or security screenings.
  • Ability to access military facilities and shipyards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Management, supervisory, or production controller experience with SUPSHIP or Regional Maintenance Centers
  • Experience with public or private shipyards at the tradesman or ship level
  • Strong working knowledge of budgeting, funds administration, and personnel management
