Position Summary:

Join us as an Operations Area Manager where you will play a crucial role in supporting our Field Managers and area teams. You will drive operational efficiencies, enhance team performance, and ensure exceptional customer service. Your leadership will be key in maintaining safety compliance, optimizing logistics, and fostering a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management:
    • Drive sales and maintain operations within your assigned area.
    • Achieve financial goals by effectively managing area business operations.
    • Collaborate with the Regional Director to analyze P&L, optimize margins, and ensure sustainable growth.
    • Oversee efficient delivery routing and service schedules, keeping the customer at the core.
    • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures across all locations.
    • Maintain accurate and timely management reporting.
    • Safeguard company and customer equipment and property.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all regulations related to propane handling and distribution.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
    • Investigate and report safety incidents or violations.
    • Ensure DOT compliance for all drivers.
  • Personnel Management:
    • Oversee training and evaluations for drivers, technicians, and administrative personnel.
    • Address and resolve employee issues and conflicts.
    • Promote a positive work environment and team morale.
    • Recruit, interview, train, and supervise Field Managers and Customer Care Supervisors.
    • Lead HR activities such as hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
  • Customer Service:
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and safety.
    • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests professionally.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through efficient service and communication.
    • Manage customer accounts and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Drive sales of new customer accounts and retain current customers.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and manage the area's budget.
    • Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
    • Prepare and analyze operational reports, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Logistics Coordination:
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping of deliveries and inventory.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field, or equivalent management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in propane distribution or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in a management role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional phone skills and computer literacy.
  • CDL Class B license required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in logistics and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
