Job description

Gerber Ciano Kelly Brady LLP is seeking a litigation associate to join the firm's New York practice, focused on commercial arbitration matters on behalf of technology company clients. This position offers a dynamic opportunity for a skilled litigator to lead high-stakes arbitration proceedings in a collaborative, forward-thinking law firm environment.

The ideal candidate brings experience in commercial arbitration defense, with a concentration in personal injury matters in the New York City metropolitan area. This role involves managing a sophisticated docket of arbitration proceedings and requires a litigator who is equally comfortable driving case strategy and developing client relationships. Candidates should have a strong motions practice background and proven ability to handle complex, high-volume matters efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working on commercial arbitration proceedings on behalf of technology company clients frominceptionthrough resolution, including motions practice, hearings, and appeals
  • Defending personal injury claims in the NYC metropolitan area across a range of fact patterns, including matters involving app-based claimants and off-platform incidents
  • Drafting and arguing motions to dismiss, motions to compel arbitration, and other dispositive motions
  • Developing and executing case strategy in close coordination with clients

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience, including experience in commercial arbitration
  • Demonstrated experience defending personal injury matters, preferably in a high-volume or technology-sector context
  • Active admission to the New York State Bar required
  • Strong motions practice background, including experience with motions to dismiss and motions to compel arbitration
  • NYC area location preferred
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to independently manage a substantial caseload while leading and developing a team
