Job Title: Installer
Job Description

The Installer assembles and installs high-end office and healthcare furniture at various customer sites using hand and power tools, blueprints, and detailed work instructions. This role works closely with a foreman and a team to unload trucks, place and assemble furniture, and complete basic electrical-related tasks such as working with panels and AV components. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret blueprints from day one, and comfort working in active office or healthcare environments where client interaction may occur.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions from day one without additional guidance to complete furniture installations accurately.
  • Install and assemble high-end office furniture such as cubicles, tables, desks, filing cabinets, and chairs in the correct locations at customer sites.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to perform mechanical assembly and installation tasks.
  • Assist with unloading trucks at job sites and moving product and components to designated areas for installation.
  • Work on electrical panels and related parts and components, including basic AV equipment and TV installation, following provided instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a foreman and team members in a team-oriented environment to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
  • Drive a personal vehicle to assigned job sites once hired on, transporting product as required after receiving training and certification.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at customer locations and interact courteously with clients and onsite employees when present.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of tools and personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Adapt to working at different office and healthcare facilities across the region, adjusting to varying site conditions and requirements.
Essential Skills
  • At least 6 months of experience in mechanical assembly, sub-assembly, assembly line work, or a similar mechanically inclined role.
  • Proficiency using hand tools from day one, including safe handling and basic maintenance.
  • Proficiency using power tools from day one, such as drills, drivers, and other common construction or assembly tools.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and work instructions without additional instruction.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, including experience in areas such as construction, carpentry, framing, automotive work, grinding, or oil changes.
  • Capability to perform general labor tasks, including lifting, moving, and positioning furniture components and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and installation of furniture and components.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from a foreman.
  • Reliability and willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in construction, carpentry, or framing that supports strong mechanical and installation skills.
  • Background in automotive or mechanical work, including tasks such as oil changes or basic repairs.
  • Familiarity with AV equipment installation and working with electrical panels and related components.

Work Environment

You wear black pants as part of the standard attire, and at some sites you use steel-toed boots, which you keep in your vehicle for use when required. The environment combines physical activity, such as unloading trucks and moving materials, with precise mechanical and installation work in professional office facilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
