Apprentice Investigator Jobs (NOW HIRING)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Apprentice

High School Diploma or GED Certificate.

Vocational/Specialized training in Electrical Field.

1 - 2 years' experience in electrical field.

1 - 2 years of experience in Electric, Gas, Water/Wastewater operations.

Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards.

Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review).

Journeyman

High School Diploma or GED Certification.

Vocational/Specialized training/certification in Electrical Field.

Journeyman Certification from a Bonafide Apprenticeship program as Electrician Trade

3 - 5 years of experience in customer relations, electrical field and with utility industry.

Proficient in Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project Management, and Outlook).

Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review).

Foreman

High School Diploma or GED certificate

Vocational/Specialized Training in an electrician field.

Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship from a State or Federally registered Electrician program.

7 - 10 years of experience in electrical field.

2 years' supervisory experience required.

Proficient Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project Management, and Outlook).

Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

Apprentice

Reads, interprets, and uses blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting.

Troubleshoots and maintains water well controls from telemetry to the motor leads and maintains emergency generators at lift stations.

Operates a company vehicle in the performance of duties.

Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp or growler.

Conducts all job duties in a safety conscious manner that reflects safety for others as well as self in work habits and in carrying out assignments.

Utilizes basic electric instruments.

Familiar with controls in district's water and wastewater plants and gas controls.

Performs ground level job functions as required.

Assists in investigating customer complaints pertaining to voltage problems, required to climb poles, etc., and takes corrective action.

Assists with troubleshooting service interruptions and electric outages.

Conducts inspections on non NTUA work, such as meter loop installation.

Installs and removes electric single phase and three phase meters and services, makes emergency repairs and energize primary lines.

Investigate customer complaints concerning electrical problems.

Maintains daily records of time worked, including filling out time sheets.

Troubleshoots overhead and underground circuits.

Work on secondary electric lines only; repairs streetlights and security lights.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Journeyman

Utilizes basic electric instruments.

Assists with troubleshooting service interruptions and electrical outages.

Familiar with controls in district's water and wastewater plants and gas controls.

Investigate customer complaints concerning electrical problems.

Reads, interprets, and uses blueprints and schematics for troubleshooting.

Troubleshoots and maintains water well controls from telemetry to the motor leads and maintains emergency generators at lift stations.

Conducts safety training sessions.

Installs and maintains various types of motors, welding equipment, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers and transformers.

Installs and removes electric single phase and three phase meters and services, makes emergency repairs and energizes primary lines.

Troubleshoots and corrects technical problems with he use of testing equipment, such as voltmeters, amp meters, ohmmeters, etc.

Troubleshoots overhead and underground circuits.

Conducts inspections on non NTUA work, such as meter loop installation.

Connects/disconnects multiple utility services upon request of customer or for non-payment of delinquent accounts.

Maintains daily records of time worked, including filling out time sheets.

Operates a company vehicle in the performance of duties.

Provides technical assistance an on-the-job training for apprentices.

Wires up switch cabinets, meter cabinets and RTU cabinets.

Performs residential and commercial wiring, including heating and cooling equipment in accordance with National Electric Code and installs electric motors and motor controls.

Work on secondary electric lines only; repairs streetlights and security lights.

Performs other duties assigned or requested.

Foreman

Supervises employees directly including selection, training, performance appraisal and work allocation.

Assists with troubleshooting service interruptions and electrical outages.

Ensure that safety procedures are observed.

Investigate customer complaints concerning electrical problems.

Connects/disconnects multiple utility services upon request of the customer of for non-payment of delinquent accounts.

Coordinates customer service functions with other departments.

Corresponds with suppliers for quotations; maintains contact with vendors regarding status of purchase orders.

Establishes work schedules and priorities to ensure that workflow is controlled.

Familiar with controls in district's water and wastewater plants and gas controls.

Assists in maintaining water well controls, troubleshooting and correction problems.

Communicates and interprets customer service policies and procedures.

Initiates and coordinates various activities designed to promote and maintain a high lever of employee morale.

Installs, maintains and repairs are made to maintain equipment in top operating condition.

Conducts safety training sessions.

Prepare reports and records on appropriate forms.

Estimates, for budget purposes, the future personnel and equipment needs of the department or section.

Direct and coordinate fleet operations and scheduling to ensure the availability of vehicles and equipment when needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.
