Position Summary
The Electrical Estimator plays a key role in supporting the success of our commercial construction projects by providing accurate and timely cost estimates. This position is responsible for analyzing drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements. The Electrical Estimator prepares detailed proposals, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and collaborates with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure competitive and complete bids. This role requires strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Role Responsibilities
  • Must have solid understanding of estimation process.
  • Review project documents.
  • Identify scope of work.
  • Material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
  • Walk difficult projects.
  • Identify and document difficult/ non-standard conditions.
  • Coordinate with Preconstruction Team to identify and fill scope gaps.
  • Clarify scope with General Contractor and Engineer.
  • Obtain quotes and coordinate/qualify scope with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Completely assemble the Bid Tab in a timely manner.
  • Provide value engineering ideas.
  • Verify estimate accuracy by comparing data versus similar bids.
  • File electronic documents.
  • Participate in turnover process to Operations.
  • Liaison between Estimating and Field Operations.
  • Follow up on past awards

  • Indirect supervision.
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and knowledge within his/her function.
  • Applies diversified knowledge of applicable principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments.
  • Makes decisions independently regarding complexities and methods.
  • Supervision and guidance related largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts and policy matters.
  • Liaison to groups within and outside of his/her organization with responsibility to act independently regarding matters pertaining to his/her function.
