About Us

We are a growing electrical contractor specializing in commercial construction projects. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator Apprentice to join our fast-paced team. This role supports multiple active projects simultaneously and plays a key part in maintaining accuracy, organization, and efficiency throughout our estimating and bidding operations.


Our team utilizes a combination of established internal estimating processes, Bluebeam, Excel, and other supporting workflows. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume environment with frequent updates, tight deadlines, and ongoing coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.


About the Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Estimating, you will support the full estimating and bid lifecycleโ€”from blueprint analysis and quantity takeoffs to supplier coordination and bid tracking.


Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints for accuracy, completeness, and scope understanding
  • Assist with bid preparation and pricing compilation
  • Perform takeoffs, layouts, and markups to determine bid quantities
  • Calculate fixture, device, equipment counts, and power requirements
  • Utilize takeoff software (Bluebeam) for measurements and quantity extraction
  • Track and manage bid invitations while helping prioritize the bid pipeline
  • Distribute drawings to suppliers for pricing and organize incoming quotes
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and estimating records
  • Support multiple active projects while meeting deadlines


Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Bluebeam
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Prior estimating or costing experience strongly preferred
  • Background in the electrical or construction industry preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
