What are the typical daily responsibilities of an Apple Translator?

Apple Translators are responsible for translating and localizing a variety of content such as user interfaces, product documentation, marketing materials, and technical support articles. They work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, localization managers, and designers, to ensure translations are precise and align with Apple's tone and style guidelines. Attention to regional linguistic nuances and rapid turnaround times are common aspects of the daily workflow. Additionally, Apple Translators review and revise translated content for quality assurance, participate in testing localized products, and may contribute to refining translation tools and processes.

What is an Apple Translator job?

An Apple Translator is responsible for translating and localizing content for Apple's products, services, and communications. This may include translating user interfaces, marketing materials, technical documents, and support content while ensuring cultural and linguistic accuracy. The role requires fluency in at least one language besides English, strong linguistic skills, and familiarity with Apple's terminology and style. Translators often collaborate with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver an optimal user experience across different languages and regions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Apple Translator position, and why are they important?

To succeed as an Apple Translator, you need native or near-native proficiency in at least two languages, a strong grasp of translation theory, and ideally a degree in linguistics, translation, or a related field. Familiarity with Apple software, CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools, and relevant translation certifications such as ATA or ITI are often required. Attention to detail, strong intercultural communication, and the ability to collaborate with remote teams are standout soft skills. These attributes are vital to ensure accurate, culturally sensitive translations that meet the high quality and brand standards of Apple products and services.

Are translators losing jobs to AI?

Apple Translators and other professional translators are increasingly using AI tools to assist with tasks like translation and editing, but AI generally complements rather than replaces human translators. Skilled translators with expertise in context, cultural nuances, and specialized terminology remain essential, especially for high-quality and sensitive content. AI can improve efficiency but does not fully substitute the need for human judgment and accuracy in translation work.

Does Apple make a translator?

Apple does not produce a dedicated translator device, but its products like iPhones and iPads include built-in translation features through apps such as Apple Translate. As an Apple Translator job, you may work on developing or localizing language tools and software for Apple devices. Knowledge of language technology, software development, and localization is often required for such roles.

How difficult is it to get hired at Apple?

Getting hired as an Apple Translator can be competitive due to the company's high standards for language proficiency, cultural knowledge, and relevant experience. Candidates often need strong communication skills, fluency in multiple languages, and sometimes certification or specialized training, with the hiring process including multiple interviews and assessments.

How do I become a paid translator?

To become a paid Apple translator, you typically need fluency in both languages, relevant translation experience, and familiarity with Apple's terminology and standards. Certification in translation or language proficiency tests can enhance your chances, and applying through Apple's official channels or translation platforms is recommended.

Job description

The future of enterprise Finance isn't just automated, it's intelligent. At Apple, we don't bolt AI onto
existing workflows. We reimagine them from the ground up.
The Finance Transformation team is building a new generation of AI native Finance platforms where
intelligent agents surface insights in real time, documents process themselves, and financial decisions
are powered by models that are accurate, auditable, and trusted at Apple scale.
We're looking for a visionary Product Manager who sees AI not as a feature, but as a new operating
model. Someone who can bridge the depth of Finance with the ambition of cutting edge machine
intelligence, and ship products that set the standard for what enterprise AI can be.
Why this Role is different. Most AI PM roles ask you to add intelligence to existing products. This role
asks you to build the intelligence layer itself. You'll define how AI agents operate within Apple's Finance
ecosystem and how they access live financial data, reason over complex policy, generate audit ready
outputs, and earn the trust of a world class Finance organization. This is foundational platform work with
company wide impact.
Description
Own Product Discovery & Strategy (Defining the "What"): Partner with Finance leaders to uncover deep business pain points, not just surface requests. Conduct user research: interviews, workflow observation, and usage analytics. Size and prioritize opportunities by business impact, user value, and strategic fit. Build and maintain a living AI roadmap that balances near term wins with long term vision.
Drive Product Definition & Delivery (Building the "Right Thing"): Translate business needs into precise user stories, acceptance criteria, and success metrics. Define high value AI use cases such as automated financial analysis, intelligent document processing and conversational policy assistance.
Articulate system level requirements for AI agents (e.g., real time data access, audit trails, explainability).
Drive sprint planning, scope management, and release strategy with Engineering.
Enable Cross Functional Orchestration (Coordinating the impact): Operate at the center of the product
business engineering triad, keeping all three aligned. Challenge stakeholder requests to ensure the right
problem is being solved first. Advocate for user needs while articulating clear trade offs on scope,
timeline, and quality. Partner with Design & Data Science on UX quality and AI model requirements.
Establish Product Excellence & Ethical AI (Measuring & Iterating): Define success metrics spanning
adoption, satisfaction, business outcomes, and model performance. Build continuous feedback loops
that turn user signal into product improvements. Uphold Apple's standards for privacy, security, and
accessibility across all Finance products. Lead responsible AI practices: accuracy validation, bias
detection, and transparent user communication.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of Product Management experience within Enterprise, FinTech, SaaS, or AI focused organizations.
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
AI & Emerging Technology: Hands on experience with Generative AI, AI agents, or intelligent automation. You're excited about fundamentally transforming workflows, not just adding a chatbot layer.
Business to Technical Translation: Demonstrated ability to bridge business stakeholders and engineering teams. Converting ambiguous problems into clear product requirements and feature specifications.
Product Thinking: Experience going beyond requirements gathering to defining user value and outcomes. You understand the difference between delivering a project and delivering a product.
Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to influence without authority, building alignment across Finance, Engineering, Design, and Data Science.
Data Driven Decision Making: Comfortable using metrics, user feedback, and business data to drive prioritization and measure product success.
Domain Experience: Background in Finance Transformation, ERP systems, internal tooling, or FinTech is highly desirable.
Advanced Degree: MBA or technical graduate degree is a plus.
