Appetizers are small dishes served before the main course of a meal. Their purpose is to stimulate the appetite and offer a taste of what is to come. Appetizers can be hot or cold and include items like dips, finger foods, or small salads. They are commonly served at restaurants, parties, or gatherings to entertain guests and set the tone for the meal.

Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, inventory systems, and plating tools is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong time management are standout soft skills for this role.
