YOU WILL BE:
The Alterations Coordinator supports the end-to-end garment workflow, ensuring seamless operations from receiving and organizing luxury merchandise to completing rigorous quality inspections and preparing outbound shipments. This role balances technical apparel support, such as assisting with fittings, sewing, pressing, and stock repairs and with vital administrative oversight.
As a key partner to store associates and leadership, you will run daily operational reports, manage documentation, process alterations transactions, and help oversee workroom operations in the manager's absence to ensure all work meets Saks Global's luxury quality standards.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Logistics & Workflow Management
• Inbound Operations: Receive gondolas and wardrobe boxes delivered by carriers (e.g., FedEx); verify contents against
inbound manifests and immediately resolve any discrepancies.
• Organization: Break down, file, and organize garments systematically by customer promise date.
• Outbound Operations: Prepare wardrobe boxes for shipping, create shipping labels, manifest outbound merchandise by
store/destination, and load, seal, and stage gondolas for secure shipment.
Quality Assurance & Technical Support
• Garment Inspection: Retrieve garments from the press station and conduct final quality inspections to ensure all alteration
tasks strictly adhere to Saks Global quality guidelines.
• Atelier Assistance: Assist with fittings, sewing, pressing, spotting garments, and execution of stock repairs as needed.
Administration & Store Communication
• Reporting: Utilize daily alterations reports to verify merchandise completion, audit operational metrics, and plan upcoming
workflows.
• Compliance: Monitor alteration tickets, tasks, receipts, waived fees, and marks for accuracy and compliance with corporate
standards.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a central point of contact for supported stores; answer inquiries from store associates and leadership professionally and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Financial Tracking: Ring alterations transactions accurately through the POS system as required.
Leadership & Support
• Workroom Oversight: Provide operational supervision and leadership to employees in the event the Alterations Manager is
not present.
• Ad Hoc Support: Perform additional responsibilities and projects as needed to support the success of the alterations
department.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience in retail operations, administrative coordination, or apparel/alterations
environments.
• Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of the fashion industry, including garment tailoring, construction, fabrication, and
luxury styling.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively and professionally via
phone, email, and in person with customers, store associates, and leadership.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft/ Google and comfortable operating standard office and POS equipment.
• Organization: Strong coordination skills, with a proven ability to manage order workflows, scheduling, and documentation
in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Product Development, or a related field.

SALARY AND OTHER BENEFITS:
This position offers an hourly rate of $25 hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include market, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
