Job description

Job Summary:
The ACCOUNTS PAYABLE CLERK works under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor and is responsible for the accurate data entry of Vendor invoices as well as confirming and reporting vendor over/shorts. The AP CLERK is also responsible for timely and accurate payment of K&M invoices; balances statements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Match invoices to PO #'s & verify accuracy of quantity & pricing.
2. Match statements; indicate missing invoices and obtain them.
3. Perform various filing duties.
4. Process vendor invoices in a timely manner to accurately and completely to record various expenses in Maddenco.
5. Manage inbox and approval of invoices
6. Work with and report any problems to the Team Lead.
7. Level II requirement: Report all over/shorts to vendor, manage claims, balance to vender statements and complete any necessary follow up.
8. Level II requirement: Code miscellaneous invoices with proper GL account
9. Level II requirement: Process Concur Transactions for payment and or reimbursement
10. Level III requirement: Manage Utility entry & spreadsheet
11. Level III requirements: Recurring entries (posting of);
12. Level III requirements: Process check run, void/cancel checks and serve as backup if Team Lead is out for short term.
13. Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
14. Support company goals and uphold K&M Values.
Job Requirements:
1. Basic knowledge of accounting principles, spreadsheets, and bookkeeping.
2. Accurate Data Entry.
3. Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator.
4. Possess a friendly and helpful attitude.
5. Ability to express ideas clearly both in written and oral communications.
6. Ability to work independently and multi-task in a professional environment.
7. Ability to communicate, prioritize and organized effectively.
8. Ability to work while seated for prolonged periods of time.
AP Clerk I Minimum Qualifications
• 2-year accounting degree or 2 years of relevant office experience
AP Clerk II Minimum Qualifications:
• Qualification for AP Clerk I; plus
• 4-year accounting degree or 4 years of relevant office experience
AP Clerk III Minimum Qualifications:
• Qualifications for AP Clerk II; plus
• Serve as back-up AP Team Lead for a temporary period of time.
• Actively participate in Leadership Development
