Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we partner with creators as they experiment with a range of cutting-edge tools that bridge innovation with imaginative storytelling. Come join Inkubator to shape what's next and explore the creative possibilities.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our pioneering team creating animated shorts and specials using experimental GenAI-native production pipelines. This Production Supervisor will work with the Producer and other production staff to manage a fast-paced, experimental animation production process, leveraging both generative AI and traditional tools to create feature-quality content in a creator-led environment. Through production planning, tracking, and supervision, the Production Supervisor is responsible for keeping the project within budget and on schedule from pre-production through post-production, while supporting the development of new workflows and adapting to rapidly evolving technology. Our ideal candidate schedules, tracks, and communicates with efficiency and ease. This role will support teams of artists through production deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and update workflow documents for your departments and shows, including documentation for GenAI/traditional hybrid processes and tools as they evolve

  • Working with the Production Manager, create schedules and tracking tools to be used by production staff to monitor all aspects of crew deliverables; manage the crew's day-to-day needs and resources within a GenAI-native pipeline

  • Serve as a primary source of information for artists; have regular check-ins with artists (virtually and in-person), and build strong, trusting relationships with the crew

  • Ensure artists understand how to use new workflows within the broader pipeline, escalating training or tooling needs to Production and Tech teams as appropriate

  • Oversee reviews with show leadership; set meeting expectations and agenda; ensure reviews and approvals happen within the scheduled time

  • Supervise deliveries of review materials to key stakeholders for notes, ensuring that outputs, materials, and reference are organized and clearly labeled

  • Ensure the crew operates within approved parameters (schedule, scope, quality, and tool usage guidelines) and elevate potential problems or delays to the Production Manager or Producer, along with proposed course-correction options

  • Generate daily and/or weekly status reports for the Production Manager and Producer, including any pipeline or tooling blockers

  • Analyze reports to ensure the crew is on schedule, planned productivity is being achieved, overtime needs are forecasted, and vulnerabilities in the workflow are identified early

  • Supervise shot and sequence breakdowns

  • Work with Production Manager and technical team members to configure and maintain ShotGrid for your show; troubleshoot and solve GenAI/traditional hybrid workflow challenges, and refine and improve processes

  • Collaborate with technology and pipeline teams to gather feedback on and implement tools and workflows

  • Supervise and train Production Coordinators and Production Assistants when relevant

  • Collaborate with the Producer to cast assignments and issue deadlines

  • Supervise the organization and maintenance of systems for monitoring production progress, which includes tracking actual vs scheduled dates for all aspects of shows

  • Help document crew learnings and best practices so INK workflows can be improved on future shows

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience as a Production Coordinator (or similar role) on CG feature films, episodic series, or short-form animated content, or related experience

  • Working knowledge of asset and shot tracking systems, preferably ShotGrid, with openness to supporting GenAI/traditional hybrid workflows in those tools

  • Experienced in Google Suite (preferred) and/or Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Final Draft, StoryboardPro, Photoshop, and Maya is a plus; familiarity with GenAI or AI-assisted creative tools is a bonus but not required

  • Strong attention to detail is critical, especially when tracking complex dependencies and iterations across GenAI and traditional pipelines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly translate creative and technical feedback into actionable tasks

  • Ability to lead with a positive attitude and encourage collaboration across artists, production, and technology teams

  • Comfort level working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with the ability to manage time, balance priorities, and adapt to rapid changes in tools and workflow

  • A self-starter with the ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team, with curiosity about new production methodologies and emerging GenAI technologies
