Position Summary:

This is not your typical counseling job!

If you have a passion for working in a creative environment with older adults, then this Clinical Counseling position is for you! It is a full-time position averaging 36-40 hours per week with full-time benefits. This position will be located at Altercare Coshocton (1991 Ostego Ave. Coshocton, OH 43812) and Altercare Zanesville (4200 Harrington Drive, Zanesville, OH).

Position Responsibilities for a Counselor:

  • Conducts diagnostic assessments/updates, develops/revises/implements individualized treatment plans, and provides individual and/or group therapy to residents of nursing homes.
  • Utilizes outcomes tools to monitor effectiveness of treatment.
  • Consults and collaborates with other interdisciplinary staff as needed.
  • Maintains active licensure to practice as a counselor or social worker.

Essential Skills and Behaviors for a Clinical Counselor:

Demonstrates solid therapeutic and evaluating skills, strong communication skills (both written and verbal), and positive problem-solving skills. Abides by the EncompassCare and/or professional code of ethics.

Education/Experience: Requires an active state license to practice as a social worker or professional counselor in Ohio. Experience in providing counseling/therapy services to older adults preferred but not required.
