As of Jul 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for ams verification in the United States is $18.87, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.35 and $20.19 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by AMS Verification Engineers and how can they be addressed?

AMS Verification Engineers often encounter challenges such as the complexity of mixed-signal designs, integrating analog and digital verification environments, and debugging subtle interactions between analog and digital components. Addressing these issues typically involves using advanced simulation tools, developing comprehensive testbenches, and closely collaborating with both analog and digital design teams. Staying current with the latest verification methodologies and maintaining clear documentation can also help manage these complexities and ensure thorough coverage.

What is AMS Verification?

AMS Verification, or Analog Mixed-Signal Verification, is the process of ensuring that analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) function correctly according to their design specifications. This involves using specialized simulation tools and methodologies to verify the interaction between analog and digital components in a chip. AMS Verification helps catch design errors early, improves product reliability, and ensures the final product meets performance standards. Engineers in this field use techniques like co-simulation, behavioral modeling, and formal verification to identify and resolve issues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AMS Verification Engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as an AMS Verification Engineer, you need a solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuit design, verification methodologies, and often a degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and verification languages like SystemVerilog or UVM is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork are critical soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure accurate verification of complex circuits, reducing design errors and enabling successful silicon implementation.

What is the difference between Ams Verification vs Background Check Specialist?

AspectAms VerificationBackground Check Specialist
Required CredentialsTypically requires background screening certifications, familiarity with verification processesOften requires similar certifications, background screening training
Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based, working with verification databases and client dataOffice or remote, conducting background checks and data analysis
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in staffing, healthcare, finance industries for verifying credentialsCommon in HR, staffing agencies, security, and compliance sectors

Both roles involve verifying information, but Ams Verification focuses on credential and background checks within specific industries, while Background Check Specialists handle broader screening processes. They share similar skills and work environments, often overlapping in employment screening tasks.

Requisition ID: 76940
Job Description:
Description
We are seeking a visionary and technically accomplished Analog and Mixed-signal Verification Leader to found and lead our central AMS SoC Verification Team. In this role, you will architect and drive a world-class verification strategy that elevates our mixed-signal rigor, and ensures first-pass success for increasingly complex mixed-signal SoC designs. You will architect an enterprise-wide verification platform that leverages best-in-class tools, modern methodologies, and scalable automation-while championing the adoption of reusable verification IP and standardized flows across the company. By introducing advanced AMS verification techniques, enforcing coverage-driven discipline, and operationalizing a robust reusable infrastructure, you will drastically reduce functional escapes and shorten product cycle times. This is a transformative leadership role, reporting to the Sr. Director of EDA Engineering, where you will not only build a high-impact organization from the ground up but also shape the verification foundation for our next generation of silicon innovation.
Responsibilities
  • Define and implement a modern AMS SoC verification methodology using industry-best practices, automation, and coverage-driven techniques
  • Architect and grow an enterprise-wide verification platform leveraging best-in-class EDA tools, standardized flows, and scalable infrastructure
  • Collaborate closely with design and verification leaders across the company to drive continuous improvement
  • Bridge the gap between Design and Test with scalable methodologies to verify test program prior to tape-out and driving traceability all the way from requirements to ATE
  • Drive adoption of reusable Verification IP (VIP) and establish common libraries, models, and testbench components to improve consistency and efficiency across teams
  • Research, evaluate, and deploy AI/ML tools and techniques to enhance verification quality, predict bugs earlier, enable intelligent coverage closure, and improve overall efficiency
  • Develop and enforce verification quality metrics, including functional coverage, mixed-signal assertions, and convergence criteria to prevent functional escapes.
  • Develop a high-performing verification team, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of innovation, and technical excellence

Required Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 20+ years of experience in deluvering best in class mixed-signal verification solutions in complex SoCs in both individual contributor and leadership roles
  • Expert-level knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal SoC verification methodologies, including UVM, real-number modeling, AMS simulation techniques, and metric-driven verification.
  • Strong understanding of complex SoC integration, mixed-signal interfaces, behavioral modeling, and end-to-end verification flows.
  • Hands-on proficiency with industry-leading verification tools and platforms, including mixed-signal simulators, waveform analysis tools, regression systems, and enterprise-scale verification infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to design and standardize enterprise verification environments, including reusable VIP, shared libraries and frameworks to continuously verify the model against design
  • Deep familiarity with AI/ML technologies applied to verification, such as generation of verification harness from specs, end-to-end RCA, model generation and agentic flows that provide a true top-down verification system.
