How much do ams verification jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 14, 2026, the average hourly pay for ams verification in the United States is $18.87, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $16.35 and $20.19 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by AMS Verification Engineers and how can they be addressed?

AMS Verification Engineers often encounter challenges such as the complexity of mixed-signal designs, integrating analog and digital verification environments, and debugging subtle interactions between analog and digital components. Addressing these issues typically involves using advanced simulation tools, developing comprehensive testbenches, and closely collaborating with both analog and digital design teams. Staying current with the latest verification methodologies and maintaining clear documentation can also help manage these complexities and ensure thorough coverage.

What is AMS Verification?

AMS Verification, or Analog Mixed-Signal Verification, is the process of ensuring that analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits (ICs) function correctly according to their design specifications. This involves using specialized simulation tools and methodologies to verify the interaction between analog and digital components in a chip. AMS Verification helps catch design errors early, improves product reliability, and ensures the final product meets performance standards. Engineers in this field use techniques like co-simulation, behavioral modeling, and formal verification to identify and resolve issues.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AMS Verification Engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as an AMS Verification Engineer, you need a solid understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuit design, verification methodologies, and often a degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, and verification languages like SystemVerilog or UVM is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork are critical soft skills in this role. These competencies ensure accurate verification of complex circuits, reducing design errors and enabling successful silicon implementation.

What is the difference between Ams Verification vs Background Check Specialist?

AspectAms VerificationBackground Check Specialist
Required CredentialsTypically requires background screening certifications, familiarity with verification processesOften requires similar certifications, background screening training
Work EnvironmentPrimarily office-based, working with verification databases and client dataOffice or remote, conducting background checks and data analysis
Employer & Industry UsageUsed in staffing, healthcare, finance industries for verifying credentialsCommon in HR, staffing agencies, security, and compliance sectors

Both roles involve verifying information, but Ams Verification focuses on credential and background checks within specific industries, while Background Check Specialists handle broader screening processes. They share similar skills and work environments, often overlapping in employment screening tasks.

Job description

The Roleย

We are seeking aย Mixed-Signal Behavioral Modelingย Engineerย to own the creation of behavioral modeling and drive mixed-signal verificationย methodologyย from the ground up. You will be part of a collaborative design team developingย state-of-the-artย mixed-signal SoCs to be hosted on some of the largest, most powerful, rapidly designed and rapidly manufactured satellites ever deployed in space.ย Your work will directly influence top-level integration and siliconย tapeoutย success. This is a high-impact, technical role with significant ownership across modeling,ย methodology, verification, and cross-functional alignment with RF, analog, and digital teams.ย ย

Responsibilitiesย

  • Develop high-level behavioral models for analog and mixed-signal IP (ADCs, DACs, PLLs, LDOs, RF front-end blocks, biasing,ย amplifiers,ย etc.).ย
  • Create abstracted models usingย Verilog, Verilog-AMS, orย SystemVerilog.ย
  • Develop regression infrastructure andย mixed-signalย testbenches enabling co-simulation (digital + analog).ย
  • Integrate AMS models into digital verification environments (UVM-based).ย
  • Define and build the mixed-signal verificationย methodologyย for top-level SoC and subsystem verification.ย
  • Support architectural exploration through early-phase modeling and system-level simulations.ย ย
  • Collaborate with analog/RF designers to capture real-world analog behaviors and map them intoย accurateย behavioral abstractions.ย
  • Work with digital and verification teams to ensure seamless integration of AMS models.ย
  • Provide modeling and verification insights during architectural reviews, PDR/CDR, and silicon bring-up.ย
  • Act as technical leader and subject-matter expert.ย

Requiredย Qualificationsย

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.ย
  • 2+ years of experience in analog/mixed-signal modeling and/or AMS verification.ย
  • Hands-on experience withย SystemVerilog, Verilog-AMS,ย wreal/RNM, or equivalent modeling languages.ย
  • Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal circuits (PLLs, LDOs, ADC/DACs, RF/IF paths, clocking, amplifiers).ย
  • Experience with mixed-signal co-simulation environments (Cadence AMS Designer, Synopsys VCSย AMS, or similar).ย

Preferredย Qualificationsย

  • Experience building AMS verification methodologies from scratch.ย
  • Familiarity with UVM-based verification and digital design flows.ย
  • Knowledge of signal processing theory, RF system modeling, or communication systems.ย
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, Python modeling, orย SystemCย AMS for high-level architectural modeling.ย
  • Experienceย working in cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.ย ย

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range for this role is $130,000 - $180,000 + equity in the company
  • Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
  • Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision/ coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perks
