Job description

The Design Recruiting Team at Amazon is part of the Global Specialty Recruiting organization and takes a proactive, high-touch approach to building strong talent networks for specialized talent with critical importance to Amazon's ability to innovate and deliver for our customers. Our team has developed a scalable global framework and set of processes for acquiring senior level talent in niche disciplines and domains within Design.
The Senior Manager, Design Recruiting will lead executive search to hire senior Design leaders (includes both IC experts and managers) across all Amazon businesses. The Design Practice develops talent acquisition strategies and cultivates relationships with and recruits world-class designers in a wide array of fields, such as interaction design, information architecture, user research, UX prototyping, industrial/hardware design, voice design, motion and sound design, visual design and creative. As a critical and credible member of the broader Amazon Design Community (amazon.design), this Senior Manager will partner with senior business leaders across all of Amazon's global businesses to define (and in some instances, perhaps, ascertain) the immediate and long-term talent needs in Design, develop talent plans and strategies, establish shared goals, and lead a team to deliver.
The Senior Manager will lead a team of strategic recruiters. The team partners closely with other talent partners within the practice including Design Programs and Market Intelligence, which is a critical collaboration that drives core team and community goals. We are looking for an innovative talent leader who has extensive experience managing design recruiting or brings deep executive recruiting experience (in absence of Design experience). A super power should be consultation and partnership skills. It is also important that this leader is passionate about hiring and developing great talent advisors and recruiters. It is important that they have honed their craft in full life cycle recruiting and can be a player coach in delivering against the most difficult talent acquisition challenges. They will have business acumen, strong analytical thinking skills, operational excellence and comfort with decision making in the face of ambiguity. In addition to possessing exceptional talent assessment skills, a high bar for talent and exceptional written and verbal communication skills, they will have managed cohesive, strong teams and have demonstrated consistent commitment to mentoring and developing talent for the long-term.
Key job responsibilities
- Hire, lead and develop a global team of exceptional leadership recruiters to execute a growing portfolio of searches for the most specialized and impactful roles at Amazon.
- Lead and coach a team through the executive search process including end to end candidate management, search management, client management, and talent reporting.
- Work with business leaders across Amazon to define continuous success for senior Design talent.
- Evolve the current frameworks of Design leadership hiring to accelerate Amazon's ability to innovate on behalf of customers.
- Become an internal subject matter expertise on design hiring at Amazon and become a trusted partner to Amazon's design leaders, recruiting and HR partners.
- Lead new creative thinking about talent acquisition be a thought leader in driving the direction and synthesis of new candidate experiences.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of progressive corporate or search firm recruiting at executive level experience
- 5+ years of progressive technical recruiting at executive level experience
- 5+ years of advising and influencing leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with recruiting and people-related tools, CRM systems, and complex spreadsheets

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
