Job description

We are seeking a Senior UX Designer who will lead the design of intelligent, multimodal experiences across voice-first devices - defining how customers interact with AI-powered surfaces through voice, visuals, and touch. The ideal candidate brings strong visual design craft and interaction design expertise to every surface, ensuring that screen-based moments are as polished, intuitive, and purposeful as the conversational experiences surrounding them. This role requires driving cross-organizational alignment, translating ambitious creative vision into shippable product, and establishing scalable design frameworks that bridge innovation with execution.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates fluency in conversational AI, excellence in visual and interaction design, and the ability to influence product strategy through data-informed thinking and compelling storytelling to senior leadership.
Key job responsibilities
Drive design programs that span multiple organizations, device surfaces, and interaction modalities - establishing clear mechanisms for alignment, prioritization, and decision-making. Document design rationale, trade-offs, and recommendations. Build regular review cadences, prototype scalable design frameworks, and present to senior leadership to secure buy-in.
Create high-fidelity vision designs and interactive prototypes that demonstrate how AI-powered, context-aware capabilities can elevate customer experiences across voice-first devices

Identify strategic opportunities through landscape analysis and stakeholder research, and develop experience frameworks that inform product roadmaps and planning processes - including year plan priorities and Think Big workshops.
Translate bold creative concepts into actionable product requirements while navigating the unique constraints of voice-first hardware, on-device processing, and cloud-based AI services. Audit implementation quality, identify gaps in existing tooling and content pipelines, and advocate for solutions that maintain design integrity at scale. Partner with engineering teams to ensure proper implementation and with data science and ML teams to leverage appropriate models for personalization and multimodal rendering.
Use quantitative and qualitative data to validate design hypotheses, identify top-performing interaction patterns, and make evidence-based recommendations for iteration and scale across the device portfolio.
About the team
Our team shapes the customer experience across Amazon's voice-first and multimodal device surfaces - including Alexa, Fire TV, Fire Tablet, and beyond

We are pioneering intelligent, AI-powered experiences that feel native to each device context while delivering measurable value for customers and the business. We value designers who think strategically, bring exceptional visual and interaction design craft, communicate clearly, and can navigate ambiguity while maintaining high standards for quality and customer experience across every surface.
