What is an Ama?

Ama are traditional Japanese female free divers who are known for collecting seafood such as abalone, seaweed, and pearls from the ocean floor without the use of breathing equipment. The practice dates back over 2,000 years and is especially famous in coastal regions such as Mie and Shima. Ama divers typically hold their breath for up to two minutes at a time while diving, and many continue working into their 60s and 70s. This unique profession is both a cultural tradition and a means of livelihood for many women in Japan.

Physical endurance, mental resilience, and strong teamwork skills help Ama divers manage the demanding conditions and support each other at sea. These competencies are vital for ensuring personal safety, sustainable harvesting, and preserving the cultural heritage of Ama diving.

What are some common challenges an AMA coordinator faces when facilitating live sessions, and how can they be managed effectively?

AMA Coordinators often encounter challenges such as managing a high volume of questions, ensuring discussions remain respectful and on-topic, and troubleshooting technical issues during live sessions. To address these, coordinators typically use moderation tools, prepare clear guidelines for participants, and collaborate closely with both hosts and tech support teams. Building a solid plan for question selection and having contingency steps for common technical glitches can greatly enhance the flow and success of AMAs.

Job description

Hello! We are AMA. We deliver customised, data-driven, dynamic ads for the most recognisable brands on the world's largest audio platforms. Founded in 2015, we have delivered over 10 billion dynamic creative impressions and 2,000+ campaigns for 300+ brands in the US, Europe, and Australia, with teams based in London and New York. AMA Studio publishes millions of perfectly tailored ads in minutes and matches a listener's interests and environment.
We're based in New York and London, and while our team is steadily growing, it's the reach and impact of our work that's expanding fast. As we continue to scale, our vibrant culture remains at the heart of AMA. We're proud to have been named Campaign UK's #1 Best Place to Work in 2025, following our rise from third place the year before, and to have been recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 in the Small Organisations category.
About the role:
We are hiring a Campaign Manager to own the successful delivery of dynamic audio campaigns for some of the world's most recognizable brands.
You will manage campaigns from handover through launch, live delivery and wrap-up, bringing together clients, agencies and internal teams to ensure each stage is clear, accurate and on track. You will be responsible not only for completing campaign tasks, but for creating a delivery experience that feels controlled, proactive and easy for our clients to navigate.
Working closely with Sales, Creative, Strategy and Product, you will translate campaign objectives into clear implementation plans, manage timelines and dependencies, resolve delivery issues and keep stakeholders informed throughout the campaign lifecycle.
This role would suit someone who combines strong campaign management and ad operations experience with excellent client service. You will be comfortable with the technical detail behind digital advertising, while being able to explain that detail clearly and confidently to clients and colleagues.
What you'll be doing:
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of assigned campaigns, from internal handover and implementation planning through launch, live delivery, reporting and wrap-up.
  • Act as the day-to-day delivery contact for clients, agencies and internal stakeholders, providing clear updates and maintaining confidence throughout the campaign.
  • Translate sold campaign requirements into clear timelines, responsibilities, technical dependencies and launch plans.
  • Coordinate creative assets, trafficking requirements, tracking, approvals, quality assurance and launch readiness across internal and external teams.
  • Monitor campaign delivery, pacing and performance, flagging issues to the right owner and following through until they are resolved.
  • Troubleshoot campaign and technical issues, escalating where necessary with clear context, potential impact and a recommended solution.
  • Manage multiple campaigns and priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail, responsiveness and follow-through.
  • Use campaign data and reporting to keep stakeholders informed, connect delivery decisions to success criteria and support post-campaign analysis.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients by anticipating questions, communicating clearly and making complex campaign requirements easier to understand.
  • Identify recurring points of confusion, rework or delivery friction and improve the templates, checklists and processes used by the team.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Creative, Strategy and Product to solve problems, share client feedback and continuously improve the campaign experience.

What we expect from you:
  • At least three years' experience managing digital advertising campaigns within adtech, programmatic media, an agency, or a similar client-facing environment.
  • Experience owning campaigns from handover and setup through launch, live delivery, reporting, and completion.
  • Working knowledge of digital campaign delivery, including trafficking, ad-serving platforms, tracking, creative QA, pacing and reporting.
  • Confidence acting as the day-to-day contact for clients and agencies, managing expectations and communicating technical information clearly.
  • The ability to manage several live campaigns at once while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness and control of deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to identifying risks, troubleshooting delivery issues and keeping stakeholders informed through to resolution.
  • Strong cross-functional working skills, with experience coordinating teams such as Sales, Creative, Strategy and Product to keep campaigns moving.

This position's annual base pay range is $80,000-$100,000. The actual amount offered may be higher or lower based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position is also eligible to earn commission under AMA's applicable commission plan. Commission is separate from the stated base salary range. At AMA, medical coverage is provided by Aetna and AMA contributes 90-100% of the employee + dependent premium, depending on the plan type. Dental and vision coverage is provided by Aetna and AMA contributes 75% of the employee-only premium. Retirement benefits include a 401(k) plan with AMA matching 100% of employee contributions up to 5%. AMA also provides life insurance coverage paid fully by the company. Other benefits include access to the Calm premium mindfulness app, financial coaching, paid volunteer days, quarterly team socials, reward programs, professional development opportunities, and the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 1 week per year.
