The Embassy Suites Georgetown is seeking a AM/PM Line Cook to join their culinary team!
A Cook is responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for producing quality meals (in both the restaurant and banquets), as well as the availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays. Additionally, you will assist with banquet service as needed, ensuring smooth operations during event
What will I be doing?
As a Cook, you would be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s)
  • Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Visually inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Measuring out meal ingredients according to a recipe.
  • Cleaning up the kitchen space after cooking each meal and ensuring the prep area and kitchen is cleaned and sanitized at the end of the shift
  • Properly storing food items at appropriate temperatures
  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations

Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
  • Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Will be required to work a flexible schedule evenings shift 2:30pm to 11:00pm, weekends, and holidays.
