Job description

About this role:

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, supports the Information Technology (IT) Business Unit by providing financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to help guide decision-making and manage performance.

This role collaborates with IT leaders and our partners across Finance, HR, and Recruiting to support budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing expense management, ensuring alignment with business priorities. The analyst will develop a strong understanding of IT cost drivers, project investments, and operational spending, and will monitor performance against plan, identify variances, and highlight risks and opportunities.

This position also contributes to improving financial processes, enhancing reporting capabilities, and increasing transparency across the IT organization. A genuine interest in technology, including emerging areas such as artificial intelligence and automation, is important.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.

What you'll do:

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budgeting process and recurring forecasts for the IT Business Unit; identify risks and opportunities and clearly communicate key drivers of variance.
  • Reporting & Insights: Deliver timely, insightful reporting to IT leadership, including analysis of personnel and technology investments; present findings as needed to enable informed, data-driven decision-making.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting, leveraging technology, including emerging capabilities such as AI, to increase efficiency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide high-quality financial analysis to support leadership, helping translate data into actionable insights that inform priorities and resource allocation.
  • Business Partnership: Partner cross-functionally with IT leadership, HR, Recruiting, and Finance teams to support workforce planning, expense management, and overall business performance.

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize information into clear, actionable insights
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including experience with financial modeling
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with financial systems (e.g., Oracle or similar platforms)

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 79,000 USD - 109,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
