JOB SUMMARY:

The Product Engineer is responsible for providing creative, innovative, and functional customer interfacing applications for all of Bennington's pontoon models. This is a highly collaborative role requiring communication across multiple functional areas including Product Management, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and Executive Leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Design mechanical and structural systems and products based on a set of given and derived requirements
• Manage relationships with key material and component vendors
• Attend and visit trade shows or other sources to stay up to date on current trends in the furniture and marine industries
• Participate in various cross-functional teams to support product development, operations, production engineering and customer service
• Follows Bennington's product development process to ensure all projects are thoroughly and timely completed
• Work directly with industrial design to collect and understand the project design requirements
• Modify designs based on cost, weight and manufacturing targets and capabilities
• Assure system and product quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
• Create 3D models of design details using SolidWorks
• Create 2D drawings utilizing Solidworks and AutoCAD
• Prepare and revise manufacturing drawings using GD&T for manufacturability and repeatability
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Willing to adjust work hours as needed to get a project across the finish line
• Must keep a positive attitude even in stressful situations
• Create professional emails to help communication and move the project along
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design or related field
• Extensive experience in marine, automotive, RV, or aircraft interior design and production is highly preferred
• Experience with project management, development programs, and prototyping
• Highly proficient in AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Surface modeling experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent ability to multitask and change direction quickly with minimal disruption
• Excellent time management/organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills within team and cross-functionally
• Be able to multi-task with having multiple projects at once
