DVS is actively seeking an AI Generalist to support our team onsite in Huntsville, AL. This position requires an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep expertise in Python development and hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) solutions. The SME will support Army and DoD enterprise data modernization initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics to drive mission success. Experience with Army Vantage is highly desirable. The candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing expertise in AI/ML, data integration, and enterprise solution development while ensuring compliance with Army cybersecurity and data governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models using Python for mission-critical Army and DoD use cases
  • Provide subject matter expertise on data engineering, analytics, and decision-support applications
  • Hands-on experience with Army Vantage, including dashboards, analytics, and API integrations
  • Familiarity with Army ERP systems (e.g., GCSS-Army, LMP, GFEBS) and logistics/operational data
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or cArmy
  • Technical writing skills for white papers, proposals, and capability statements
  • Experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior staff
  • Integrate AI/ML capabilities into Army enterprise systems, with emphasis on Army Vantage and related platforms
  • Conduct data exploration, preprocessing, feature engineering, and pipeline development for structured and unstructured data
  • Advise leadership on emerging AI technologies, best practices, and implementation strategies for Army/DoD missions
  • Collaborate with developers, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate mission requirements into AI-enabled solutions
  • Ensure solutions adhere to DoD cybersecurity standards, RMF, STIG compliance, and Zero Trust principles
  • Provide technical documentation, briefings, and recommendations to senior Army/DoD leadership
  • Mentor junior staff in AI/ML practices, coding standards, and solution delivery methodologies

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Expertise in Python and common AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, Hugging Face)
  • Proficiency with data integration, ETL pipelines, SQL/NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data platforms
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, model training, tuning, validation, and deployment
  • Familiarity with DoD/Army enterprise IT environments and mission support systems
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs, Zero Trust) and secure software development practices
  • Experience supporting Agile/SAFe environments and delivering in government IT programs
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher
