Description:

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Service Delivery (80%)

  • Oversee a team of Logistics Coordinators
  • Negotiate and manage freight contracts with carriers and vendors for cost-saving opportunities
  • Analyze data and identify areas for improvement in efficiency and freight cost reduction across all plants
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly reports on logistics performance metrics and transportation costs
  • Coordinate with internal teams (sales, project managers, production, inventory control specialists, logistics coordinators, loaders) attend plant huddles daily
  • Oversee, plan, and execute all new hire training for all logistics coordinators
  • assist sales and estimating with logistic requirements and pricing for large specialty structures
  • Quote and coordinate large structures and track from origin to destination
  • Ensure broker compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and safety protocols.

Continuous Process Improvement (10%)

  • Maintain SLAs and build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Drive improvement in clarity of process flows and measurement across the organization

Collaboration and Research (10%)

  • Collaborate with corporate functions across the board to ensure any required changes to policies, procedures, and processes are implemented
  • Collaborate with data owners/stewards to align on process and data issues
  • Respond to questions and follow up on pertinent escalations

Requirements:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 5+ years of work-related training or experience in supply chain manufacturing and logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.) and Fishbowl Inventory Management Software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills used across multiple internal departments.
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to set and achieve goals aligned with the company's strategy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated with minimal direct supervision.

Equipment Operated: Computer, phone.

Lifting: No major lifting required.

Sitting: Must be able to remain in a sitting position for 50% of the time.
