Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator works with the logistics operations team in communicating with carriers and customers to guarantee on-time service for all shipments. Provides a high-level of service and performance in maintaining and developing strong relationships with customers and carriers.

Roles & Responsibilities Summary:
  • Dispatches carriers by phone and computer in an efficient and professional manner.
  • Manages load information including pick-up and delivery times for all shipments using logistics management software.
  • Tracks and communicates the movements of drivers to shippers and receivers in accordance with established procedures and load specific information.
  • Properly directs and resolves inbound calls from drivers and carriers to obtain accurate status and location updates to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Efficiently updates Carrier Sales and Customer Sales Reps of any shipment delays or issues when required.
  • Validates all load data prior to delivery and addresses all types of product discrepancies requesting documentation as needed.
  • Effectively documents the required details of all communications with carriers and customers in the TMS logs.
  • Ability to proactively identify load issues and works with team to promptly implement solutions.
  • Performs other essential duties as assigned by management in support of optimal operations performance.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an open, professional business office environment. Works in close proximity to operations team members. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an open, physical office environment and is largely a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands, arms and fingers to effectively operate computer equipment and handle and/or lift objects up to 20 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position has assigned work shifts which includes daytime business hours, afternoons, nights and weekend shift hours.
