Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic part time Afterschool Art Teacher to join our afterschool program. The ideal candidate will inspire students through hands-on art projects while fostering creativity, self-expression, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment.
Part Time Working Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at 3:15 to 5:00 p.m.
Exact hours and days will depend on class enrollment.
Schedule
  • Must be available to commit for the full 2026-2027 school year
  • Students are grouped according to their age/grade level band
  • Sessions are one-hour long

Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate art activities and projects for preschool to 5th grade students
  • Introduce students to a variety of art techniques, materials, and styles
  • Encourage creativity, imagination, and artistic exploration
  • Effectively manage the classroom and address students' behavior issues in a positive, professional manner
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with afterschool management regarding student and program-related matters

Requirements
  • Background in art, art education, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with preschool and elementary-aged children preferred
  • Passion for art education and creative learning
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Benefits
The hourly rate for this position will be $50 per hour.
